International Students

The MSACS program invites and welcomes international applicants to our premium program for experienced professionals.

The application process for international students includes additional requirements, please review the checklist:

International Student Admission Requirements

Unlike larger research institutions in Georgia that offer doctoral programs, Kennesaw State University cannot provide a package of inducements that includes complete waiver of tuition. Instead, we offer a number of expensive program premiums that are included in the cost of the tuition: laptop computer, PDA, distance lectures, recorded lectures, microcontroller and embedded systems lab equipment and components, certification or conference trip, books, parking decal, other fees.

Note that the tuition charge of $5500 per semester for the MSACS program is LESS than the non-resident tuition rate for graduate study, yet includes the program premiums as well.

F1 Students and Distance Learning

Under Review and not enforced as per Department Chair, 12/4/07
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis) lists a policy in regards to F-1 students and distance learning courses (67 FR 76256), which limits how much distance learning F-1 students may include in their program of study. Basically no more than on third of a student's hours may be taken online per semester. The policy for the MSACS program:

  • F-1 Visa students must attend all MSACS regular 3-hour courses physically on campus in the classroom with the professor in their first two semesters.
  • For their final three semesters, MSACS F-1 students may attend up to one third of their hours/coursework for that semester at-a-distance. If a student is taking 9 hours of coursework in a semester, one 3-hour course could be attended online.
