Distributed Computing
The Distributed Computing knowledge area covers networked computing systems, distributed architectures, and distributed programming including the modern N-Tier Client/Servers systems. The MSACS includes substantial strength and study in the area with three courses (9 graduate hours) with substantial coverage of this area:

CS 8625 High-Performance Computing
A study of High-Performance computing architectures, programming techniques, theoretical and practical parallel speedup alternative mechanisms and limitations

CS 8628 N-Tier Client-Server
A study of modern N-Tier Client Server systems that form the foundation for distributed computing systems.

CS 8635 Distributed Object Technology
A presentation of Networks, UNIX and programming, including interprocess communication, communication protocols, OSI mode, security, file transfer protocols, printer spoolers, remote command execution, remote login/access, performance and procedure calls
